I had the opportunity to talk to Dana Nedea, a professional passionate about human resources, whose career experiences and lessons are worth sharing. Her story is one of humble dreams and how these can evolve into a solid career built on courage, trust, and the desire to learn continuously.

The childhood dream

Dana’s story begins with her childhood dream: to become a teacher. "I dreamed of becoming a teacher, inspired by the desire to continuously learn and contribute positively to the lives of those around me." Although she didn’t follow this path, her passion for education and supporting others remained constant throughout her career. Dana had the opportunity to teach in an academic setting for three years, an experience that helped her develop essential skills for her later careers: communication, organization, and the ability to motivate and guide people. "This period had a significant impact on my professional development and continues to help me collaborate effectively and build successful relationships."

Education

For Dana, education has always been an important pillar of her life. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Management at the West University of Timișoara, and later, a Master’s in Strategic Management and Organizational Development. "These studies provided me with a solid foundation for understanding the complexity of the business environment and how I can contribute to the development of an organization."

First steps in HR

Dana’s first job was as an HR Assistant, during her time at university. "Even during university, I dabbled in aspects of HR, and my first 'grown-up' job was as an HR Assistant. That period taught me how important it is to understand people’s needs and develop relationships based on active listening and empathy," Dana shares. This experience was essential in shaping Dana into a professional in human resources, and the lessons learned at the beginning of her career continue to guide her today.

How she discovered the passion for recruitment

As her career developed, Dana discovered that HR was the place where she could successfully combine the human aspect with the strategic one. "I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of working with people and contributing to their professional journey. I’ve always enjoyed combining the human side with the strategic side, and in HR, I found that perfect combination," Dana confides. Her passion for recruitment and developing people has transformed Dana into a dedicated professional who identifies and nurtures the potential of every person she works with.

The journey in HR: from hr consultant to business development manager

In 2021, Dana took the step toward Randstad, starting as an HR consultant. However, as careers in this field tend to evolve quickly, Dana now holds the role of business development manager.

A tip for juniors

Dana has a message for those just starting out in human resources: "Be curious, ask questions anytime and to anyone, learn that although the HR world is full of dynamism, it is also full of people eager to grow others. Every challenge is just an opportunity to learn something new, and the courage to try is all they need to begin with."
