responsibilities
- In charge of maintaining (designing back-end and front-end enhancements, developing features, fixing issues) components of PSFV (Pilotage & Suivi des Flux de Fabrication) which is client’s standard application to control vehicle manufacturing in all plants over the world;
- SFF (Small form factor), IFF and SFBI are central applications hosted by Google Cloud running on Linux which receive data from PSFV (vehicle plants) and SIPMECA and FMO (powertrain plants);
- As PSFV (Peak Systolic Flow Velocity) is a critical application (running 24/7 with on call support), it’s hosted by local servers located in plants mostly running on OpenVMS;
- None of these applications and components are critical (even though the local applications are) and the support level is standard;
- The back-end is developped in C/C++. The front-end is based on Java through WSAD. Message exchanges are managed by MQ and MQTT (events sent to the Digital BackBone);
- PSFV is a 30-year old application the back-end of which is developed is C/C++. The front-end includes various technologies such as J2EE, C#.Net and HTML5/JS. Nowadays most of the screens are web oriented and call SOAP and REST services on server side;
- Work closely with the design team, product management, and development teams to create HMIs and services in order to cover all the business requirements;
- Development of first functioning prototypes;
- Prototype testing;
- Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code;
- Take part in discussions on technical solutions;
- Pair programming and code review;
- Incident analysis (using ServiceNow);
- Bug fixing;
- Migration from MQ messages to MQTT events;
- Upgrade of SFF in case of rollout to a new site;
- Decontent of IFF and SFBI due to rollout of MQTT events;
- Discuss with the Product Owner to define the implementation with the best value/effort ratio;
- Develop and document the Stories of the Sprint with other team members;
- Create unit/integration tests in a continuous integration environment even though PSFV cannot be delivered continuously;
- Develop the product in accordance with architectural & technology guidelines;
- Responsible for the quality of the product;
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as Full-Stack Developer;
- Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or other relevant engineering;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in C/C++, Java, 2EE, Spring Boot, Angular 2+, HTML5/JS;
- Good coding skills (data structures, algorithms, errors handling, design patterns, memory leak hunting, etc.);
- Good SOAP or REST, SQL and Oracle knowledge;
- Good understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, GitLab, CI/CD;
- Good Cloud, Dynatrace and Liquibase knowledge;
- Ideally, good knowledge of ServiceNow;
- Experience with Agile working methodology and specific tools (Jira, Confluence, XRay);
- A strong interest in both front-end and back-end development;
- Good problem solving skills in critical technical and functional environments;
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Team player;
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English, French would be a plus.
